Job Overview:

The Asset Manager’s job is to oversee the usage, reusability, organization, and storage of assets across all departments in the pipeline. Through a myriad of approaches and tools, Asset Manager’s main purpose is to maximize department efficiency by promoting accessibility and awareness of existing assets, and (when applicable) presenting cost-saving alternatives to non-essential elements within the script or storyboards. This position reports to the Producer.

    Required Skills:

    • Proficient in Photoshop, Harmony, Acrobat, or similar PDF software, Google Docs and Fusion is a plus.
    • Possess a proficient understanding of how all departments operate on a Harmony animation pipeline: Storyboards, Design, Backgrounds, 3D Modeling, Harmony, Layouts, Edit, and Compositing.
    • Possess thorough knowledge of Ftrack and how it operates inter-departmentally.
    • Has a general understanding of how assets are sent and received by outside studios.
    • Possess an excellent organizational sense in order to maintain a clear and concise list of assets, easily identified and followed by all departments.
    • Knowledge of animation practices as it relates to:
      • How an animatic breaks into various, departments, assets, and angles.
      • How to streamline assets in order to save work across Storyboards, Design, Backgrounds, and Rigging.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and consistently to various department leads throughout their processes.
    • Able to quickly change tasks and adapt to the ebbs and flows of production.
    • Ability to learn new processes and incorporate them into the Asset Management procedure as we grow and learn.
    • Collaborate and lead with respect, humility, inclusion, and open-mindedness.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Go through finished episodes of previous seasons to identify elements that could be reused.
    • Read scripts, watch animatics, and keep an eye on production in order to present cost-saving alternatives to Producers.
    • Identify and share reused animation, gesture action templates and hero pose animation in Pre-Production.
    • Collect and Archive Backgrounds for reuse from previous episodes.
    • Collect and Archive Props created by Design/Harmony in their scenes for the Library.
    • Assist department heads with listing and organizing their assets.
    • Develop tools for tracking that all departments can easily find and follow.
    • Create episode asset lists for all characters, props, and backgrounds to be created or re-used in order to cross-check with each department to find items that may have been missed.
    • Create clear and concise naming conventions for assets that are consistent with current and former naming conventions.
    • Create and Maintain the Drone Comp – a visual guide using the storyboards, characters and prop art, and all elements that go into every shot by their FTrack naming system – for use as an asset bible for all in and out-of-house departments.
    • Provide training on any and all aspects of Asset Management in FTrack and the creation of Drone Comps for Leads and new hires.
    • Track the progress of Assets on a daily basis to provide department leads with the latest up-to-date information on which files have been completed and which files are ready for assignment, have notes, or need approval.
    • Delegate tasks to Asset Manager Assistant, and oversee their work.
    • Must reside in GA.
    • Must be able to provide authorization to work in the US.
    • Must be able to provide proof of COVID vaccination and boosters.
    Hourly rate: $33.00
